- Using the self-serve Business Portal and Midy APIs, businesses can integrate identity verification into their online workflows and customize a request to fit their use case. In most cases, an experienced developer can configure and integrate Midy in about one business day.
- Once you’ve requested an identity verification, your user or customer will be asked to share a privacy-preserving proof using the Midy consumer app.
- First-time Midy users will be asked to download Midy and setup an account. They’ll be prompted to scan a government-issued identity document (passport or license) and complete a quick video selfie to prove that the document belongs to them. Once verified, they’ll receive a digital credential that they can share with participating brands to immediately prove their name or age.
- Existing Midy users who have already been issued an identity credential can scan a QR code on the participating brand’s website, enabling them to securely share their credential with a single tap. No credentials are exchanged without the customer’s authorization.
- Once the user or customer shares their proof, the business will receive only the minimum data required, often just a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ result: “Is the customer over 21? Yes/No” “Does the customer’s name match their profile? Yes/No”
- Upon receiving the verification result, the business can have a high degree of assurance that the customer is who they say they are and continue the checkout, enrollment, or other customer journey.
